When I read “Rescued by Love”, by Melissa Foster, I am truly overjoyed by the HEA. All I can say is that her books get better and better over time, or I am truly invested in her characters. I have read every book that she has written. My heart was beating a mile a minute when I was reading “Rescued by Love.” Jake is the new love of my life, but of course I think that with all the alpha male characters. He is so thoughtful and sweet and I feel just as fast for Jake as he fell for Addy. Jake is so romantic and the way that their relationship blossoms is so beautiful. I know that there are skeletons in the closet that make the push and pull of their relationship so dynamic. I could not put this book down. I read the whole book in one sitting. I want to say how much I admired and loved how independent and brave Addy is. I want to be brave enough to take your journey like she did and find myself and know that I completed a journey by myself. I wanted to be there right with her at Pirate’s Peak. I wanted to experience the push and excitement of making a goal. The truly soul searching and thought that goes into pushing yourself out of your comfort zone is a truly amazing act. I just want to experience the settings that this books take place in. I want to be on the Beach of Elpitha Island and explore the mountains and go hiking. Sounds like heaven to me.Product details

I thought the plot of this book would be very simple. Addy goes to a wedding, hooks up with Jake, goes off into the woods, her friend panics and sends him after her, they get together, end of story.
That's just the tip of the iceberg. What makes it different than your typical wedding hookup romance (a category which I'm still very fond of) is that there is a significant amount of time devoted to showing the connection between Jake and Addy before she runs off into the woods. I don't want to give too much away, but it also examines the realistic implications of Addy's trip into the woods and doesn't completely paint Addy as always being right and Jake as being completely unreasonable.
I also enjoyed getting to see the Ryder family all together in one place and interacting with one another. I felt like I didn't get that much in the other books, so it was nice to get to know Ned and Andrea almost as well as I've gotten to know their kids.
Addy is independent and sweet; Jake is sweet and romantic. Together, they heat up the pages, or, my screen. Melissa never fails to deliver a quality, well-rounded story with characters that are flawed enough to make them relatble. Rescued by Love is the newest in the Ryder series and not to be missed! This couple needs to work for their HEA, but it’s worth it. It’s really worth it.
Another great narration by BJ Harrison...and, of course, more great writing from Melissa. WOW!!! Jake & Addy! We knew they'd be hot!! Two fierce and independent individuals are bound to do that. But WOW, can we also say STUBBORN! -) Addy has a stubborn streak that she KNOWS causes issues in some aspects of her life. But how can you blame her. After living 18 years with her father taking care of EVERYTHING for her and her mother, she didn't want to have to depend on a man to get her through life. She wanted to do it on her own. She didn't think even falling in love was in the cards, because she feared that meant giving up herself and everything she wanted.
Enter Jake Ryder and all her independence is in jeopardy, or so she thinks!
Jake has had a thing for Addy the minute he met her with her smart mouth and fierce independence! The one thing he absolutely he cant get enough of is the one thing that could pull them apart. He tries, with everything he has, to be patient and show Addy she can be with him and still be herself. She doesn't have to give anything up. But Addy's past and her family have proven two times over how much the thinks she will give up surrendering to the desire that has built between her and Jake.
Her solo trip into the mountains causes anxiety and Jake to realize that he loves her! He is bound and determined to show her that she can be the woman he fell in love with and not change one thing about herself, except letting him in!
Oh, Jake and Addy, where do I even begin?! I just have SO much love for this couple. Yes, Jake is the epic panty-melter with an attitude you can’t help but fall for, but I have a thing for Addy’s spunk just as much. Nothing about these two is easy. Jake’s relentless pursuit of Addy is a major undertaking. They are both so independent and boy, when they get together it’s not some quick hook-up or insta-love, it’s a full on battle of the wills and sparks fly!!

There were so many parts of this story that I adored. Addy and Jake’s sassy, snarky banter made their story so fun. I was so drawn to the real-life feel Melissa managed to deliver. It was definitely not a made-over to be perfect storyline. These two are far from perfect but totally perfect together. Totally HOT!

Every book of Melissa’s gets better and better, and I know I always claim each new hero to be my new favorite, but this time Jake and Addy together are my favorite. A definite read-it-all-in-one-sitting type of story…the very best kind!
